The hotel offers an impressive choice of 10 fine dining restaurants, 10 casual dining venues and 6 exclusive bars and lounges, and has more Forbes award-winning restaurants than any other resort in the US. In this post we offer a glimpse of our designs for a special event held at “Wing Lei”, Michelin-star fine dining restaurant.

Wing Lei is a fine dining Asian restaurant, specializing in the “Haute Chinese” cuisine with a mix of Cantonese, Shanghai and Szechuan flavors prepared using Western cooking techniques. The restaurant was the first Asian restaurant in the US to receive a coveted Michelin Star rating and was voted Best Chinese Restaurant in Las Vegas.

We collaborated with Wynn’s Executive Pastry Chef Pierre Gatel on creating a dessert display stand for a special event held at Wing Lei restaurant. To create a centerpiece-like display for individual dessert servings we used our large “frame” buffet elevation design. The display is designed with a massive rectangular metal frame and four tiers of wavy glass platters, for beautiful double-sided presentation. In order to blend well with the opulent decor of the restaurant, we incorporated elements in extra clear glass, creating a neat yet upscale look for this dessert display stand. The result was a beautiful, understated dessert display suitable for a fine dining venue.

Naturally, tabletop plays an important role in creating a unique and memorable experience. After all, this is an “island” where guests spend the essential part of their time at the restaurant. Tabletop is a “scene” where the dining show is played. Nothing should be left to chance. From the fabric of the table cloths, to the colors and patterns of the tableware and originality of table accessories, no detail is too small to miss the opportunity to impress the guests and create a memory.

When developing tableware designs, we always take the first cues from the interior and the style of the decor. Matching plate design with the colors of the interior, patterns with the ornaments and shapes with the style is the formula for dinnerware designs that “communicate” with the venue and bring the concept together.

Taking a step further in building an absolutely unique tabletop is the creative process of custom dinnerware design. Tailor made designs with custom pattern or embedded logo speak not only of refinement and opulence but are also a hallmark of restaurant’s brand and ethos.

When developing custom dinnerware designs based on the logo, we pay attention to the positioning of the logo on the plate and the interplay of colors on the surface of the “canvas” (plate).  The slightest differences in the placement of the logo or the color contrasts can make a large difference in the character of the plate, from classic and traditional to funky and edgy!

Throughout the process we develop multiple variations of the design in order to arrive to the concept that embodies the essence of the restaurant’s style and aesthetics.

The final product is the plate that tastefully interprets the story of the venue and captivates guest’s attention, enticing a thrill of the dining experience yet to come. And so a “wow” factor is created!

The New York Palace hotel

The New York Palace is a legendary luxury hotel located in midtown Manhattan. The Palace offers 813 elegant guest rooms and 86 luxury suites on a prime NYC location, with Michel-start dining venue, luxury amenities and bespoke services. To the non-locals the hotel is best known as the supporting star of the popular popular NYC-set TV shows and Hollywood films, where The Palace’s opulent interiors served as a backdrop for portraying New York’s upscale lifestyle and timeless glamour.

In 2012 hotel embarked on the $120 million renovation project to rejuvenate the decor of the exclusive Towers Rooms and Suites, as well as to refresh the look of the lobby and reception areas. While preserving its signature elegance and sophistication, the hotel debuted new  modern details in the interior design, such as hand-laid mosaic tile floors, colorful carpets, elegant furnishings, marble counter tops, bold art installations, modern chandeliers and luxe lighting adorned with Swarovski crystals.

To complete the new, fresh look of the hotel’s renovated areas, hotel’s team worked with Glass Studio on conceptualizing designs for hotel dinnerware that would match with the new decor. Our designers took the inspiration from the modernized version of the hotel’s luxurious ornaments and created dinnerware pieces that blend well with the interior’s style.

Taking cues from the opulent gold ornaments and new contemporary white surfaces, our designers created pieces for hotel room amenities and banqueting service. The base points of the design were small plates and bowls in clear glass, adorned with modern elegant “notches” pattern in white color, and combined with luxuriously-looking gold metal elements. The designs complimented well the style of the interiors and beautifully accentuated the modernized elegance of the space.

The Patent

“Clickman” is designed with our worldwide patented “hook”  and a corresponding “hole” that will enable you to create a miniature buffet display stand which is absolutely versatile – single face, double face or double stacked.

The Kit

“Clickman” kit consists of 3 main elements: display stand + glass plates & bowls + accessories, available in 5 color combinations. One kit can offer unlimited combinations and can be constantly re-arranged to provide different and fresh looks.

The Display Stand

The kit includes 4 display stands that have 77cm length and 44cm height. Each stand has18 holes or notches on each side and can accommodate 36 accessories. When connected with the “connector for doublestacking”, 2 display stands can sit one on top of the other. They are delivered packaged in non-woven bags for scratch protection.

Glass Studio worked together with the property’s F&B team on several venues, including Izakaya Japanese restaurant, Rang Mahal Indian dining by Atul Kochhar and The Vault. Today we share with you the story of the designs for The Vault exclusive bar.

Described as “a plush hideaway at the top of the world’s tallest hotel”, The Vault offers exquisite formal lounge experience. The venue is situated on the 71st and 72st floors of the hotel (the highest location for a hotel bar in the world at the moment) and consists of a cocktail bar with premium beverages (an impressive collection of over 100 varieties of the most expensive vodkas in the country), a cigar lounge and dining area.

The sleek  contemporary decor of luxe black and gold offers a flair of exclusivity against the backdrop of the panoramic view of city’s skyline. The chic and contemporary interior has a fashionable flair and creates a cool vibe.

Glass Studio designed a range of dinnerware pieces for the venue’s dining offer, consisting of refined selection of deluxe canapes, caviar service, sushi and sweet delicacies. Our designers worked on items such as serving platters, trays, caviar presentation sets and small serving plates.

We took inspiration from the venue’s black and gold interior, but also from the unique decorative elements, such as the heavy metal doors that resemble the bank safe-style doors with complex mechanism of screws and bolts (hence the name of the venue – The Vault). Our designs centered on sleek, gold surfaces and elegant shapes that highlight the theme of the interior and intensify the sense of ceremony when indulging in the Vault experience.

The secret lies in bespoke, carefully crafted tableware. Recently, we had the pleasure of working on” statement tabletop” for “Izakaya” restaurant, located in JW Marquis Dubai hotel.

“Izakya”  is conceptualized as experiential sushi restaurant, with a focus on “social sushi” experience – dining in a lively, buzzing environment with a group of friends, under the  guidance of cheerful Wasabi Girl, who is there to prepare fresh Wasabi at the guest table, recommend sushi selection and entertain with impromptu fortune reading.

The restaurant offers a menu of cult Japanese favorite dishes such as authentic Japanese noodles, robatayaki, teppanyaki and sushi, and in-house creations such as Green Tea and Wasabu ice cream. What makes dining in “Izakaya” even more special is Chef Kino’s rare skills in preparing the infamously dangerous Japanese delicacy – “fugu” (blowfish), which brings excitement and tension to the table.

The lively atmosphere spreads from the centered sushi bar to the Robatayaki Grill and Yakitory Grill on either sides of the restaurant. The decor is contemporary, sleek and cool, with black wood panels and floors and bright green furniture and neon lighting fixtures.

To highlight the uniqueness of “Izakaya”‘s dining experience, our designers worked closely with the F&B manager and Executive Chef on tableware pieces that seal the whole concept with bold and memorable plate design. The creative idea behind our sushi plate designs was to have an edgy custom look, using restaurant’s logo as focal point.

Our designers took a cue from logo’s resemblance to postal stamps, and developed a design where simple geometrical rectangular and square shapes of the sushi plates were adorned with restaurant’s logo on the corner of the plate, thereby creating an illusion of a package that carries Japanese delicacies.

This nifty idea gave urban flair to sushi presentation and ensured that the food experience will be tied to the restaurant’s brand. The plates were designed with an interplay of black, silver and clear glass surfaces, which matched the interior and urban cosmopolitan feel of the decor.

Tableware intensified the funky, original concept of the restaurant and sealed the story with style.

Grand Hyatt Muscat is a five-star hotel situated on the beaches of Oman’s capital city. The hotel is among the largest and most luxurious properties in Muscat, with lavish interiors and prominent Arabian architecture. Hotel’s dining offer is composed of eight restaurants, bars and lounges, from fine dining venues to casual pubs.

Glass Studio worked with hotel’s team on designing glass dinnerware for the hotel’s all day dining venue “Mokha Café”. Besides its wide international culinary offer, the restaurant is known for thematic food nights and special menu with favorite dishes from the Arabic cuisine.

For the needs of the buffet-style dining section of the restaurant, our designers worked on a wide range of glass dinnerware pieces. Our designs featured large glass serving bowls and platters, glass trays, sauce servers and small glass plates and bowls for appetizers and finger food.

Dinnerware designs included a combination of glass dishes with silver metallic tint on the rims and glass platters and trays in clear glass with subtle abstract pattern in classic black color.

This combination of colors and styles allowed dinnerware to match the lavish interior of the venue while offering endless possibilities for tasteful and quite appetizing food presentation.

This year’s four-day show attracted 4,200 exhibitors from 110 countries, showcasing over 50,000 brands in the 6 distinct sectors of the food and hospitality market: food & drink, food service & hospitality, ingredients, beverage & beverage equipment, processing & packaging, and restaurant & cafe.

In partnership with Restofair, we showcased our latest buffet concept – Clickman by Tiger Glass at the show’s Restaurant & Cafe section, dedicated specifically to tableware and restaurant equipment developers.

We presented Clickman buffet concept with two buffet display setups in black/red and black/yellow combinations of metal stands and glass buffet ware (serving bowls, serving dishes, appetizer spoons etc).

Clickman flexible buffet displays attracted notable attention of show’s visitors and were met with great interest and enthusiasm by hospitality experts. The visitors of the show described Clickman as a very innovative buffet system and compared its multi-functionality and color combination options to lego system. Those encountering our product for the first time were returning to our stand over and over again to learn more about Clickman and its endless display possibilities.
