One our favorite types of projects is creating dinnerware for buffet dining, where creativity in matching colors, shapes and patterns knows no limits! Such was the case when our team was creating buffet dinnerware for recently re-launched “Ecco” restaurant at InterContinental Shanghai Puxi.
“Ecco” is a modern and very stylish all day dining venue, offering impressive range of delicacies from Italian and pan-Asian cuisines prepared in the open show kitchen. Our designers worked closely with restaurant’s team on designing sexy, eye-catching tableware that enables creative food presentation and elevates the dining experience.
Key designs for this restaurant were buffet stands and elevations in several different shapes: from frame-like buffet centerpieces with curvy platters and spiral bowl stands, to elegant buffet risers and metallic kang tables.
Polished silver elements allowed buffet elevations to stand our against the dark color of the restaurant’s interior. The metal fixtures of buffet stands were paired with glass elements in vibrant celery green and clear tones, that reflect major elements of the decor and its lighting compositions.
The interplay of clear and green glass pieces in buffet stand designs was the way to introduce another dimension to the buffet setting and produce true “wow” effect on the guests.
The buffet stands were accompanied with a wide range of glass serving bowls in matching green and clear tones to complete the story.
The overall result is an exciting and sexy buffet setup, which captivates the eclectic experience of the buffet dining and inspires pursuit for new flavors.
