Our designers worked with hotel’s opening team and executive chef John Cordeaux on designing buffet setup for Flow Kitchen restaurant. Flow Kitchen is a casual style dining venue specializing in the culinary classics from Middle Eastern, Indian, Mediterranean and Asian cuisines.

For the needs of the all day dining, our designers worked on restaurant dinnerware for buffet presentation. Our dinnerware designs included a variety of glass serving bowls and  buffet elevations, where we used the combination of buffet stands from MyGlassStudio and Tiger Glass brand offering. Buffet stands in gold metal color were combined with glass platters and bowls from Tiger Glass collection in vibrant red, green and yellow colors, that match the color spectrum of the interior and add energetic note to the food presentation.

Following the completion of hotel’s refurbishment project this month, Glass Studio had the task of creating an attractive buffet display for the IHG Leaders Meeting 2012 event. Going along with the hotel’s upscale, yet approachable style with an emphasis on a “simplified elegance”, our team chose to incorporate Clickman into the project.

The Clickman kit used for the hotel’s buffet set up consisted of the  combination of black metal buffet display stands and glass buffet dishes, bowls and plates in red color.

Clickman flexible buffet proved to be a good match for this project, offering creativity, flexibility and ultimately a stylish buffet presentation.

Our designs were inspired by hotel’s elegant, yet modern black and white interior, accentuated with elements in sleek glass and metal and occasional accessories in bright colors. For the hotel’s buffet service, we designed a range of glass serving platters and bowls that provide great functionality and add a touch of style to the buffet presentation.

Following the color spectrum of the interior, our designs featured predominantly buffet ware in neutral clear glass in classic geometric shapes, combined with pieces in white color (i.e. long oval serving platters) and with silver crackled design (i.e. serving bowls on stands).

This allowed for a simple and elegant buffet presentation, which complements the interior and keeps the buffet concept modern and chic.

In this post we present to you our afternoon tea stand designs for the award-winning tea service at The Landmark hotel in London. Served at the hotel’s Winter Garden with glass roof atrium, the afternoon tea experience at the Landmark is elegant and chic. We collaborated with Executive Chef Gary Klaner in creating a design for a high tea stand for the special Chocolate Afternoon Tea menu, based on a variety of chocolate infused delicacies.

Our designs  featured a “skyscraper”-like metal stand with inlets for small glass trays on which food is displayed. Our designers chose a selection of bronze and silver-tinted metal bases for the high tea stand, paired with small glass inlets with crackled pattern in a dynamic red color. The red pattern provided a nice accent to the presentation of various petit fours and mignardise and added a vibrant note to the afternoon tea service.

Along with the high tea stands for the Winter Garden, our team also worked on the designs for buffet stands for the hotel’s signature brunch service and events held at the Executive Club Lounge. Our designers used large modular buffet stands in light bronze metallic tint, paired with glass display shelves. The designs for buffet stands were perfect for dessert presentations, as the photos illustrate.

Buffet stands were also accessorized with the additional of small glass double staircase elevations, used to serve small food items, such as petit fours, mignardise or canapes. This added a nice touch to the overall presentation, providing an interesting contrast between shapes and structures.

Following Rotana’s classic and elegant design with strong contemporary feel and accent on comfort and practicality, our dinnerware designs for buffet dining were in tune with the hotel’s philosophy.

We chose simple and clean style for the design of the buffetware, using clear glass with green tint and soft shapes.

Our designs included buffet items such as buffet stands and elevations, large fruit bowls, salad bowls and glass dressing bowls for salad stations, as well as a range of small canape plates and appetizer dishes.

Some of the most prominent designs were buffet stands and centerpieces in Glass Studio’s signature drum-like and shelf-like forms. Our designs for buffet stands never fail to add elegance to the food presentation and extra dimension to the dynamics of the dining space.

Clear glass dinnerware allowed culinary creations to be the center of attention, while the frost of the glass and interplay between matte and shiny surfaces accentuated the freshness of the food.

The NRA Show is one of the largest international events in the restaurant and hospitality industries. Produced by the National Restaurant Association, the Show draws over 58,000 hospitality professionals, exhibitors from over 900 product categories and visitors from over 100 countries each year to Chicago to showcase the latest trends and innovations in the market.

Glass Studio had a great honor to exhibit at the event of such magnitude.  This year’s show was marked by the “premiere” of our new product under the Tiger Glass brand, the “Clickman”.

Our new concept for flexible buffet displays was met with great enthusiasm from the industry experts and professionals.

Described as a product of Glass Studio’s  ”cutting-edge design creativity”,  ”Clickman” was welcomed with positive reviews from the NRA’s visitors, and was featured by Tabletop Journal in the news about novelties displayed at the NRA Show 2012.

The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa opened in November 2011.  This is Westin’s first property in Abu Dhabi  and marks the launch of a new  concept for the brand. The new property is conceptualized under Westin’s “six pillars of wellness”, where the well-being theme is incorporated in  room design, healthy dining, and rich recreational programme.

The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa is located within Abu Dhabi Golf Resort and features 172 guest rooms and suites, business centre, spa facilities and 5 dining outlets.  Glass Studio collaborated with hotel’s opening team in designing dinnerware for room amenities and for one of its restaurants. In this post we present our dinnerware designs for the  “Fairways” restaurant.

“Fairways” is an all-day dining venue, and offers wide selection of dishes from Asian, Arabic and Mediterranean cuisines. Restaurant features open cooking stations where guests can observe chefs create delicacies from fresh ingredients. In line with the hotel’s wellness concept, “Fairways” also offers Super Foods buffet with a selection of power-boosting  fresh produce to energise and invigorate health-conscious visitors.

Following the “contemporary wellness”  concept, “Fairways” restaurant was designed as a modern, sleek and relaxed space, with natural colours and wooden and marble elements.

Glass Studio designed restaurant dinnerware that is not only very functional for demands of an all-day-dining restaurant, but also complements well  the decor and adds to the  food presentation.

Key designs centered on the buffet section. Restaurant’s buffet was envisioned as a focal point of the decor, and demanded well-structured and aesthetically-pleasing solutions.

To tackle the task, Glass Studio’s designers created round wheel buffet displays as centerpieces for the restaurant’s buffet stations.  Buffet centerpieces were designed as 4-tier buffet stands with dark metal constructions and glass platters.

Other pieces for the buffet stations included rectangular glass serving platters in white and brown hues, with stripes or occasional highlights of precious metals.

Designs also featured small boat bowls for serving condiments and soft delicacies. Bowls were designed in etchings-like black pattern and served on black rectangular serving platters.

The most eye-catching buffet items were glass dessert boxes designed for buffet dessert section. Rectangular boxes with sections and lids were designed in clear glass with cracked patter in beige color.

While being fully functional, glass boxes added new dimension to the buffet set up and served as beautiful accents to the overall decor.

Galaxy Macau complex opened in May 2011 and is one of the largest casino resorts in Cotai. The $1,9 billion investment features three hotels: Galaxy Hotel, Banyan Tree Macau, and Hotel Okura, and numerous venues for leisure and entertainment.  Along with the impressive casino, resort offers the world’s largest rooftop wave pool with a sand beach, tropical and Japanese gardens, Japanese tea pavilion, shopping street, movie theatre etc, all designed to enrich guest experience.

Following the motto “World class, Asian heart”, resort’s design contains elements of the traditional Southeast Asian architecture paired with contemporary trends.

The resort has a comprehensive dining offer, with 50 restaurants and food outlets. Dining is mainly centered on the Asian cuisine (Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, etc) fused with popular international flavors.

Glass Studio worked with Galaxy’s opening team on designs for food presentation several dining venues. Today we would like to present our dinnerware designs for “Festiva” all-day dining restaurant.

Festiva is an all-day dining restaurant at the Galaxy Macau resort, offering  rich selection of international and Asian dishes. Restaurant offers buffet dining with international and Asian flavors and “live cooking theater” as entertainment for guests.

Restaurant is created as a multi-level dining venue with several thematic zones to accompany different dining sections and cuisines. The  focal point of the restaurant’s decor is the elaborate metallic flower panel above the open buffet, which is paired with elements in marble, glass, wood and metal that help create appetizing  food presentation.

Glass Studio dinnerware designs for Festiva featured  range of buffet dinnerware for elaborate food presentation. Designs included various  buffet elevations, buffet trays, glass serving bowls and platters, and smaller glass dishes as cutlery rests.

Buffet dinnerware designs centered on orange color, which blended with the warm color palette of the restaurant’s décor. Glass trays and platters for buffet elevations were placed on dark brown metal stands, matching the marble pattern of the buffet counters.

Dinnerware designs centered mainly on soft oval and round shapes so as to make handling of dishes easier, which is very important in fast-pace buffet dining.

As a final result, careful approach to colors, shapes and patterns in designing concepts for food presentation helped create dinnerware  that complemented the dining offer of the restaurant and accentuated the  style of its interior.

Culinary offer at Wicked Spoon

Described as “bustling culinary food hall”, Wicked Spoon offers new take on the classic hotel buffet, capitalizing on modern and stylish décor and original interpretation of classic and ethic dishes. The buffet offers a comprehensive selection of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with rich culinary offer that attends to the most sumptuous tastes of gastronomes.  The cuisine extends from classic American dishes including carved meats and prime cuts, salads  and Italian  pastas to favorites from Japanese, Chinese and Korean cuisines such as made-to-order fresh sushi, dim sum, shrimp dumplings etc.

The dessert section, referred to as a “Dessert World”, is indeed a micro-cosmos of sweet delicacies of its own. It includes a homemade gelato bar and favorites such as macarons, petit fours and mignardise,  chocolate and nut covered fruits, and mini cakes.

What sets Wicked Spoon apart from other hotel buffets (apart from high quality and rich variety of culinary offer) is imaginative interpretation of familiar dishes and innovative serving approach. Most dishes are prepared and served in small individual pans or plates (tapas style), so as to preserve the freshness of food and to give enthusiastic foodies a sense of satisfactory portions when they embark on  gastronomic quest.

The interior design at the Wicked Spoon is described as futuristic and stylish – a work of local architect and designer Brand Friedmutter. The dining room is spacious and features several smaller rooms for semi-private dining. The décor is dominated by tastefully selected orange and yellow hues paired with dark wood accents and floor-to-ceiling glass panels. Main visual attractions for guests are impressive hand-blown spiral glass chandelier and gastronomy-inspired paintings and lithographs.

Glass Studio worked closely with Chef Jeff Walter to come up with dinnerware designs that will be both functional for buffet serving and also accompany the décor of the dining venue.

The project involved  buffet dinnerware such as glass  serving  platters and bowls for desserts and cheeses,  small glass fruit bowls and ice bowls, glass bread baskets and large bread trays, glass breadstick holders, as well as glass dining plates.

The color choices for buffet dinnerware included white glass with clear pattern or transparent glass with subtle square and trace patters that accompany the overall décor of the venue.

Elegant square and oval shapes were selected as ideal for buffet dinnerware, which included rectangular glass serving trays, square dinning plates, square serving dishes, as well as large oval bowls and oval trays for breads and sandwiches and small square glass bowls for fruits and ice. The overall effect was dinnerware that was highly functional for buffet presentation, while also stylish and accentuating the freshness and originality of dishes.
